*National School Lunch Program Changes*
The U.S. Department of Agriculture extended the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Seamless Summer Option to allow all students access to free breakfast and lunch through the 2021-22 school year.
This option officially came to a close on June 30, 2022.
The 2023-24 school year will follow the procedures of previous non-pandemic years, and households will need to apply for free and reduced lunches.
Notably, it takes approximately 30 days to process these applications.

Spectrum Growth’s Nutrition Department’s primary concern is the well-being and health of our students. Good nutrition is critical for maximum student achievement and assists with meeting our educational goals. We serve nutritious meals to our students that are of excellent food quality, taste and freshness. All meals meet the USDA requirements for nutritionally balanced meals at the proper portion size. Along with healthy meals, Spectrum Growth provides nutrition education that will help to prepare our students to make healthy choices and lead healthy lifestyles now and into the future.

Spectrum Growth Nutrition team is dedicated to the achievement of our students and the future wellness of students. Therefore, we provide healthy meals and nutrition education in a welcoming dining environment. This dedication stems from our commitment to be responsible stewards to support the unique educational goals of Spectrum Growth while providing the highest quality for our students.
Our Vision
All students will benefit from access to a variety of healthy food within their school lunch, including: fruits, vegetables, and milk. Additionally, a progressive nutrition and wellness program will be implemented, in conjunction with the construction of our new gymnasium, we will assist our students to “resolve to be fit”. This program is designed to assist children with Autism to make healthy life choices. *According to the CDC, by adolescence, children with Autism were reported to be 32% more obese than adolescents without Autism. Spectrum Growth would like to help make a dent in this percentage and build healthy life skills.
Eligibility Provision
Spectrum Growth is proud to participate in the National School Lunch Program. All families have been given the option to apply for the free and reduced meal program. Should you feel that your circumstances have changed, please reapply. Simply complete a new 2015-2016 Free and Reduced Lunch Application and return it back to Spectrum Growth, Attn: Nutrition Department, 129 West 4th Street, Lorain, OH 44052.
